A Special experience – a lovely gift.
Come and enjoy a fascinating walk in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside. Lead an alpaca around our alpaca farm which nestles between the edge of the Chilterns and the River Thames. Learn more about these attractive, enigmatic creatures that originate from the High Andes of Peru, but are quite at home in leafy England.
You will see hundreds of alpacas and discover how we manage them. Depending on the time of year, you may see crias (baby alpacas) being born, you may see huge fluffy alpacas or sleek sheared alpacas, you may see wonderful groups of weanlings racing around the paddock having fun or the alpacas may be busy grazing or chewing the cud. Whatever, happens, they are always fascinating to watch, quite apart from the fun interactions you will experience with the alpaca you will be leading.
You must have sturdy footwear and sensible clothes (please try and avoid flappy coats) and remember to bring a camera. We shall start the experience by telling you a few things you need to know about our farm and your safety and give you a short introduction to alpacas in general. We shall then introduce you to your alpaca, and explain how to handle them safely. Then off we will go…… A very knowledgeable and experienced guide will accompany the walk and chat about all things alpacas during your walk.
All bookings need to be made in advance. See our booking page for availability of dates and times. We cannot accommodate walkers who turn up at the gates without prior booking. We have a limited number of walks a week as we are still a working farm and have other jobs we need to be doing to make sure all the alpacas are cared for properly.
